Standards Development and Technology Policy Creation
One of the most effective ways that we have found that we can be of great value to our clients is by assisting in developing organization-wide standards for telecommunications and UC-related products.
For example, a large oil company may find that their employees are purchasing a wide variety of headsets or conference phones because there is no formal standard within the company. This puts a burden on the IT and telecom departments because their internal customers are asking them to support too wide of a range of products. On top of that, valuable time and money is being spent on procuring products that are not compatible with the existing telecom hardware and software. Here is where we play a role. We meet with various departments and find common ground on which a policy can be based. We write the policy and guidelines, then work with the client to find a way to encourage its adoption by creating intranet pages, simple guides, and more complex web-based ordering and approval integration.
