A/V Technician / Programmer / Designer

Diverse A/V integration company specializing in corporate collaboration solutions and UC (unified communications) is currently seeking experienced A/V techs, engineers, programmers and designers in Houston, TX.

Experience in installation, integration and/or programming of products:

  • Control and automation systems
  • Audio solutions
  • Mics
  • Digital signage
  • Cameras
  • Video conferencing
  • Structured cabling
  • Switchers and scalers
  • Microsoft Teams / Skype for Business

 

For programmers, requirements are

  • Crestron Intermediate Certificate/Training and/or AMX Control Programmer 2 Certificate/Training
  • Knowledge of standard software for DSP set-up, switcher set-up, etc.
  • Ability to trouble shoot audio, video, control systems problems
  • Knowledge of networking
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong Communication skills (written and verbal)
  • InfoComm CTS certification a plus

 

For A/V integrators and technicians, requirements are:

  • Experience in installation, service, testing, troubleshooting or programming of numerous Audio Visual Systems including: Crestron, Extron, AMX, Smartboards, etc.
  • Knowledge of following test equipment: Volt Meter, Ohm Meter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multi-meter, and Impedance Meter
  • Experience working in teams and independently to complete commercial installation and service projects
  • Experience integrating various low voltage systems
  • Working knowledge of audio, video, control and communications systems
  • Audio, video conferencing, or control equipment manufacturer certifications a plus. (Polycom / AMX / Crestron / NEC / Bi-AMP / etc.)
  • Solid job history working for established A/V contractor

For A/V designers and engineers, requirements are:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the AV design and field implementation
  • Ability to successfully complete jobs from design and equipment specification to configuration and commissioning.
  • Possess a working knowledge of low voltage communications systems in the fields of Analog and Digital Audio processing and standard and hi-definition video
  • Experience with reviewing bid documents for purposes of evaluating and preparing equipment take offs, review design integrity/discrepancies, wire take offs, scope of work descriptions, etc. a plus.
  • Highly technical, with the ability to evaluate situations, utilizing logical and decisive reasoning
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD to efficiently design systems
  • CTS, CTS-I and CTS-D are highly desirable and manufactures certifications a plus
  • Conducting technical research in order to provide customers with the most up-to-date solutions
  • The ability to demonstrate computer literacy, i.e. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Auto Cad
